Safety in ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar city is generally a safe and welcoming city for international visitors. Mongolia is known for its strong culture of hospitality, and visitors typically experience a friendly and respectful environment. The main areas of the city, particularly hotels, conference venues, restaurants, and shopping districts are well frequented and considered safe during both daytime and evening hours.
As in any major city, we recommend standard precautions such as keeping personal belongings secure, being aware of your surroundings in crowded areas, and using registered taxis or hotel-arranged transportation. The Congress Organizing Committee works closely with official partners, hotels, and local authorities to ensure the safety and comfort of all delegates throughout the SIOP Asia 2026 Congress.
Emergency services, hospitals, and pharmacies are readily accessible in the city, and English is widely spoken in hotels and major public facilities. We are committed to providing a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for all participants during their stay in Ulaanbaatar.
